This is the exact match for the original blade that comes on the MM875 mower. Although it’s hard to tell in the picture, it has the little curved ends just like the original blade. It’s easy to install, and even comes with instructions although it’s pretty obvious how to change it even without them. I had hit a rock and really messed up my original blade, so changing it out for this replacement blade made the mower cut just like it was new again.
Replacement blades for these mowers can be hard to find. The store where I bought the mower didn’t have the blade, so I was glad to find it here on Amazon. I later discovered it at one of the big box home improvement stores, but it’s just as easy to get it here and have it delivered to your door.

I purchased the Lawn-Boy 10642 to replace my 15 y/o Toro Recycler. Very similar design at lower cost than new Toro.
Pros: 1. Very powerful engine, doesn’t bog down in thick grass. 2. Electric start is great. Not required, but after 30+ years pull starting, a nice luxury. 3. Bag design works well.
Cons: 1. Variable speed drive. Off or Jog. Very difficult to maintain walking speed. Would prefer low/med/high settings of old. 2. Drive wheels need more agressive tread. Don’t work well on incline. 3. Height settings a bit cheap for this mower. A general gripe re: OSHA safety requirements not unique to this machine. I confess to disabling auto shutoff lever on all machines so equipped…Don’t like to restart mower every time bag has to be emptied or kids toys need to be moved.
If an individual doesn’t grasp the harm a spinning blade may cause…they shouldn’t be using power tools.

After one summer of mowing I am very happy with the Earthwise 20″ 12 Amp corded mower. It works as well as gas mowers costing 2-3 times as much in high grass. Use a 12-2 extension cord as recommended by many reviewers and don’t stall it in high grass. One reviewer recommended using a 50′ cord for the close grass and a 100′ for the further away grass, but that is not necessary. It OK if you have them – don’t go out and buy 2 cords – and want to go to the trouble of changing them, but does not help since the electricity lost in a 12-2 cord is so small. Using a corded mower is different, but is no problem for a small to medium lot unless there are a huge number of randomly placed trees/bushes that you have to maneuver around. The only complaint is that the covering on the handle is soft but not the best quality and will need to be replaced after another 2 years, but I paid 7 – including shipping – for the mower so quality per price is good.

Well I never really write reviews for Amazon products but since ones that others have written are so intrumental in purchases that I make I figured I’d better pay if forward. I got this 21-inch 550 Series about two weeks ago and since the grass is growing like gangbusters right now I’ve had to mow four times already.
First off this mower comes out of the box basically ready to go and even comes with a free quart of oil which you will need to put the whole thing in the mower to fill up. The mower is a little heavy when the bag is full but really not bad at all. We have 1/2 an acre on a pretty hilly lot and I’m not killing myself out there. The cut is fantastic and it starts right up on the first pull, mowing through 5 and 6 inch grass with ease. The bag is great. Some mowers don’t have good designs so the bag never really gets full but this one lets you top it off so you spend less time walking to the mulch pile.

i’ve researched reel type mowers for a while, searching for the perfect one. i haven’t been responsible for yard work ever and i just moved into a place where that job rests on my shoulders. so i wanted a mower that was manageable for me and sensible for my smallish yard. this particular mower had great reviews so i bought it. it was delivered to my location in no time, i had it assembled in less than 10 minutes. me and my 8 year old daughter were outside using it and having a blast. our small yard is a mix of steep hills and smooth flat areas but we found the mower could handle it all with ease. i made sure to put WD40 on all cutting edges and moving parts (i’m sure that helped tremendously) and found it wasn’t necessary to change the factory settings at all. we got a nice even cut that left the grass about 1 1/2″ or so (guestimation). we only had to make one pass over most areas to get an efficient cut (a couple passes for thick weedy grass) and as other people posted, it won’t cut weeds much over ankle height and it doesn’t like rocks or sticks (luckly my yard has very few of both). i found it MUCH easier to use than a gas mower and less messy. it makes a nice sound as it’s cutting the grass and i had a great time with my daughter. we even met a couple neighbors who were curious about our “old fashioned” mower and wanted to try it out.
my only complaint is with the handle bar grips. the foam is very flimsy and doesn’t stick to the handle bars. they slip and slide and won’t stay in place. i’m sure i can rig them up to stick, but i shouldn’t have to do that. the manufacturer should design it with the handle bar grips already stuck on there with some heavy duty glue or something!
other than that, i highly recommend anyone with a smallish yard to try this mower out.
